GM gives Goodyear tire more OE 'Assurance'

May 19, 2010

General Motors Corp. has selected the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max as a key original equipment fitment for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco, according to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

The standard tire fitment for the highly anticipated model will be 17-inch Assurance Fuel Max tires. GM estimates that the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco will achieve an estimated 40 miles per gallon on the highway when combined with a six-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is expected in dealer showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The selection of the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max as the standard tire for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco follows exclusive OE fitments for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Ford Fusion S. The tire also is sold in the aftermarket.

The Assurance Fuel Max features a fuel-saving tread compound that is engineered to reduce energy loss as the tire rolls. For more information about Goodyear's broad selection of tires for cars, light trucks, SUVs, and more, visit www.goodyeartires.com.
