Cooper Avon joins Michelin in Formula 1 talks

April 19, 2010

F1 commercial boss Bernie Ecclestone told BBC Sport: "We're trying to make an agreement. I don't mind [which company] as long as the teams are happy."

The feeling is that teams would favor Michelin as they have much more experience in Formula 1 having last won the Formula 1 Championship in 2006.

It is rumored that the smaller Cooper Avon manufacturer would supply tires built by Bridgestone for the series although they are actively participating in a number of open-wheel series such as Formula 2 and the former A1-GP series.
