Kumho announces SCCA contingency program

April 14, 2010

Kumho Tire returns to the Sports Car Club of America as a contingency sponsor.  The sponsorship reflects Kumho Tire’s continued commitment to the grassroots racing community.

“We’re looking forward to continuing our participation with the SCCA,” said Rudy Consolacion. “This will be our seventeenth year of competition, and we’ll once again award the top finishers in their respective classes.”

“The SCCA is excited to welcome Kumho back into our contingency program.  Kumho Tire has built up a strong customer base within SCCA with its quality products, service and awards,” said Eric Prill, SCCA Vice-President of Marketing and Communications.

Consolacion said that Kumho will offer contingency awards for Regional Club Racing and National Solo Racing.  “We are continuing the program for regional-level club racers and re-introducing a program for solo racers.  We’ve added an interesting twist to the solo program this year.  For the street tire classes, we will pay out double the amount to racers that use any of Kumho’s ultra-performance street tires such as the Ecsta XS.”
“Winning pay outs will be made in product award vouchers,” noted Consolacion. “These vouchers can be used to purchase additional Kumho products from participating dealers.”

The SCCA sanctions many regional club racing events on any given weekend throughout the year.  The Solo National Tour and ProSolo National Series gather top racers from around the country and culminate at the finale event in Lincoln, Nebraska, to crown National Champions.  Visit the SCCA’s web site at HYPERLINK "http://www.scca.com"www.scca.com for details.
