German magazines like Hankook Ventus

April 2, 2010

Hankook Tire Co. achieved outstanding results in recent tire tests conducted by two leading German automobile magazines: Auto Motor Und Sport and Gute Fahrt.

The Ventus S1 evo, Hankook's premium ultra-high performance summer UHP tire, ranked first out of 10 global tire brands in Auto Motor Und Sport's March 11, 2010, issue. The tires were tested for their handling and braking abilities, driving safety characteristics and comfort levels.

Hankook's flagship tire performed "exceptionally well in all relevant test criteria, including receiving the best marks for braking in the wet and dry testing," according to Hankook. The tests were conducted using tire size 245/45R17 fitted on a Mercedes Benz E-Class.

Gute Fahrt, a Volkswagen and Audi specialized magazine, also rated Hankook's Ventus S1 evo as "Very Good" in its annual summer tire test.

The tire earned the best "braking on wet" ranking, and "excellent directional stability" on dry surfaces. The Ventus S1 evo received excellent marks for noise, comfort, wet and dry handling, and good marks in the ecologically relevant rolling resistance evaluation.

Ten tire brands participated in the magazine's testing and evaluation of size 205/55R16 fitted on a VW Golf 2.0 TDI.

"Last year, our Ventus V12 evo earned  impressive results in Car and Driver magazine's summer tire test," says Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communications for Hankook Tire America Corp. "Now, two influential German enthusiast magazines are rating our Ventus S1 evo UHP tires very, very highly. We're on a roll, pun intended."
