It was reported by Jonathan Noble on the Autosport Web site today that Michelin is in advanced negotiations with the governing body of Formula 1, the FIA.
It appears that if Michelin returns it will not be as a sole supplier to the series but in competition with other tire manufacturers. This is in line with Michelin's long-held belief that it's tire technology benefits the most from experience in a competitive racing environment.
It's reported that a statement confirming Michelin's return to Formula 1 could be made sometime this month.
