Marangoni signs up another RINGTREADer

Oct. 25, 2001

Bergey's Tire Service has signed a RINGTREAD licensing agreement with Marangoni Tread North America Inc.

Bergey's is the eighth RINGTREAD retreader in the United States and the ninth in North America. "We are very satisfied with the growth of our base by adding high visibility regional leaders such as Bergey's to our network," says Bob Minor, Marangoni's vice president of marketing and sales.

The family-owned, Franconia, Pa.-based commercial tire dealer is the 33rd largest retreader in the U.S., according to Modern Tire Dealer. Its two retread shops, one a Michelin precure facility and one a mold cure shop, retread 324 medium truck tires a day.

Bergey's Tire Service was founded in 1924 by Norman Bergey. The dealership is run by President Lester Bergey and Vice President Duane Bergey.

The application of Marangoni's precure RINGTREAD System (RTS) required the use of automated Marangoni 2000 Series retreading equipment, which was designed to meet the requirements of retreaders manufacturing more than 100 tires a day.

The company now caters to retreaders producing up to 70 tires a day as well with its new 1000 Series retreading equipment.
