A new, deep-lug drive tire from Continental Tire the Americas LLC, the Continental HDL2 DL Eco Plus, has been verified for low rolling resistance by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The tire has been added to the EPA's SmartWay list of verified low rolling resistance truck tires.
Four other Continental truck tires -- the HSL2, the HDL Eco Plus, the HTL Eco Plus and the HTL1 -- have been SmartWay-approved, as well.
"The HDL2 DL Eco Plus meets the current (SmartWay) standard for the drive axle," says Roger Stansbie, director of radial truck tire technology development for Continental.
The tire will be available this June in size 275/80R22.5.
