Hesje joins TIA Environmental Advisory Council

March 16, 2010

Brian Hesje, chairman of the board of Fountain Tire, has joined the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). He replaces Jim Prangle, also of Fountain Tire, on the committee.

Hesje is a past CEO of Fountain Tire. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alberta Recycling Management Authority.

The EAC's goals include providing strategic information, advisory services, educational programs and governmental assistance "that promote environmental awareness throughout the tire industry," according to TIA officials.

"Brian's impressive history in the tire industry -- and specifically, the retail sector -- has given him a unique insight into the issues facing tire recycling," says TIA President Wayne Croswell. "He is a leader in Canadian tire recycling."

The first EAC meeting will be held March 31 at TIA headquarters in Bowie, Md.
