STTC sees the light by reducing carbon footprint

Feb. 21, 2010

Bethlehem, Pa.-based Service Tire Truck Centers (STTC) has partnered with Philadelphia-based Aelux LLC on a company-wide initiative to reduce the company’s energy usage.

By replacing all lights and fixtures at its 38 locations with high-efficiency fluorescent fixtures, STTC estimates it will save 1,549640 kilowatt hours annually.

This efficiency initiative, which will reduce the number of lamps and ballasts, will create a nearly 3.1 million pound annual reduction in carbon emissions, the equivalent of removing 271 cars from the roads or planting more than 4,700 trees every year, according to the company.

STTC chose to partner with Aelux because of Aelux’s focus on providing the most energy efficient lighting system for the most desirable level of light, according to Walter Dealtrey Jr., STTC's COO and secretary/treasurer.

STTC has 38 locations in eight states. For more information on one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the United States, visit www.sttc.com.
