TCI's Snyder prepares to rub shoulders with consumers

Feb. 19, 2010

Tire industry veteran Dave Snyder will buy six retail locations from Tire Centers LLC (TCI) on April 1, 2010. The locations will be operated by DLS Tire Centers as “T3” locations.

“Tire retailing is something I have been very passionate about for a long time, says Snyder, CEO and president of DLS Tire Centers. "In fact, the T3 dealer program is a result of that passion.”

Snyder helped start Tire Centers in 1986 and will leave the company as vice president. His most recent TCI assignment has been to develop the passenger car and light truck tire distribution operation, which has grown from 22 distribution centers in 2002 to 77 today.

The six stores were TCI's only company-owned retail outlets. They are located in Boulder and Colorado Springs, Colo.; Elizabethtown, Ky.; Newark, Ohio; Kansas City, Mo.; and Waukesha, Wis.

“This agreement is beneficial for both organizations,” says Joe Finney, CEO and president of TCI. "It gives TCI the chance to focus completely on its commercial and distribution businesses, and it gives Dave, as a new customer of TCI, an opportunity to reach out and serve customers in these communities.”

T3 Certified Tire Centers is a menu-based program from TCI, which is owned by Michelin North America Inc. It is designed to offer independent dealers brand name products, national account pricing, business partnerships and development opportunities.
