The search for new Tire Factory CEO is over

Feb. 19, 2010

Tire Factory LLC has named John Kreidel CEO, effective Feb. 27, 2010.

"Our search committee unanimously selected John for his unique combination of distribution and
warehousing experience, and his strong strategic planning skills,” says Tire Factory Chairman Chris Cornelius.

“John also brings extensive experience in operating and building a member-owned cooperative. Plus, he’s been an independent business owner himself. Our board of directors considered his experience with a member-owned co-op an essential skill for the position.”

Kreidel was previously the CEO of member-owned is.group from 1997 through 2005. Under his leadership, member purchases grew from $120 million to nearly $400 million. (Group members sell office products in all 50 states.)

“I’m absolutely convinced that the independent Tire Factory members can and will continue to compete effectively with the big box chains as we aim to enhance the marketing and procurement benefits of membership,” says Kreidel. "Tire Factory is a great model for independent tire
dealers."

Tire Factory members operate more than 200 retail locations serving 13 western states with end-consumer sales in excess of $300 million. Tire Factory serves its members from regional distribution centers in Portland, Ore., and Salt Lake City, Utah.
