The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tire will be standard fitment on the 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 with optional performance package in the following sizes: P265/40ZR19 and P285/35ZR20.
The tire contains an asymmetric directional tread design with massive tread blocks on the outboard shoulder to enhance dry cornering; sweeping Aquachannel groves on the inboard side of the tread to help with wet cornering; an innovative "multi-radius" mold shape for handling and smooth wear; and other features, according to Goodyear officials.
"The Eagle FT SuperCar G:2 is positioned as a race-inspired, ultra-high performance dry traction tire for select super cars," says Bob Toth, Goodyear's director of new products.
