Bartec adds SMP’s TPMS sensor line

Dec. 19, 2014

Bartec USA LLC has released a software upgrade for its TPMS tools that includes the ability to program the multi-coverage programmable sensor from Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP).

The company says its Qwik-Sensor offering covers 94% of all domestic, European and Asian applications with three multi-coverage TPMS sensors.

“Adding the Qwik-Sensor to our arsenal of programmable sensor coverage gives even greater flexibility to the repair technician,” says Scot Holloway, CEO.

The company says all that’s required to program the Qwik-Sensor is a current account at www.bartecusa.com and to download and update the Tech400+, Tech400SD or Tech500 tools with R52. Once the technician’s tool is updated with R52, programming is easy as a few button clicks.

Michael Rose, product manager, says that an added benefit of programming these sensors with the same tool that completes the TPMS relearn is the ability to test the sensor prior to installation.

Bartec TPMS Tools were the first to feature “at the car” programming of aftermarket TPMS replacement sensors, according to the company.
