Marangoni and Tatneft Group form joint venture

Marangoni S.p.A. and the Tatneft Group have agreed to form a joint venture in Russia to retread all-steel truck tires. The joint venture company will be based in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan.

Thea newly formed joint venture will be known as KaMaRetread LLC. Trading house Kama LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tatneft, will own 65% while Marangoni will own 35%.

Marangoni will contribute equipment, technologies and experience in retreading to the joint venture and will provide necessary training, while the Tatneft Group will provide a facility for the retreading, management and personnel as well as local expertise.

Once the joint venture is up and running (which is expected in the first half of 2015), it will provide truck tire customers, including consumers of all-steel truck tires manufactured at the Tatneft-owned plant in Nizhnekamsk, with “top-quality retreading service assured by an advanced level of technology aimed at offering a significant increase in the tire life,” the company says.

Marangoni and Tatneft Group consider this joint venture as the first step in expansion of cooperation in the future.

Tatneft is engaged in the production of oil and gas, refining and marketing of oil and refined products, as well as manufacturing and marketing of tires in Russia. Tatneft is listed on the Moscow Exchange and London Stock Exchange.
