News about new Warrior brand tires

Nov. 11, 2014

Since being introduced at the 2013 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas, the Warrior brand has expanded in a number of ways.

According to China Manufacturers Alliance LLC (CMA):

* The R29 and R30 Touring tires have received Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) upgrades.

* Warrior’s R32 is now available.

* Two Warrior products were recently introduced: the WR200 winter tire and SR1 SUV tire.

The UTQG tread wear ratings fro the Warrior R29 premium all-season touring and R30 high performance touring tires have been increased to 500 and 540, respectively. In addition, they have received "A" traction ratings.

"Raising the tread wear ratings to 500 on the R29 and 540 on the R30 helps to better position the tires in a retailer's product screen," says Ken Coltrane, vice president of consumer tires at CMA. "Warrior received such great feedback last year when we launched the brand at the SEMA trade show, and it has always been our intent to grow the brand by bringing more sizes, fitments and options to the market.

The R32 high performance all-season tire, part of a "soft launch" last year, is now available in the aftermarket, according to Coltrane.

"It's a fantastic-looking and well performing product and we’re very pleased to add these popular 17-inch sizes to the Warrior lineup."

Both the WR200 and SR1 will be available in January 2015.

The studless Warrior WR200 features a special winter compound formulation for "superior" snow and ice traction performance; an enlarged contact patch with four circumferential grooves; and a unique oval sipe technology designed for improved winter traction. It will be available in 19 sizes.

The Warrior SR1 is a premium tire designed for the CUV/SUV segment. Designed to provide a quiet and comfortable ride, it features a five-pitch tread block, solid center rib and an asymmetric shoulder design.

The SR1 will be available in nine sizes and is backed by a 65,000-mile limited tread wear warranty.
