SEMA Show, pre-show: Cooper highlights 3

Nov. 3, 2014

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will showcase its newest passenger and SUV/light truck products, all introduced during 2014 -- its 100th anniversary year -- at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show Nov. 4-7 in Las Vegas.

The most recent addition to Cooper’s product lines is the Discoverer SRX, a premium luxury CUV/SUV touring tire designed for better responsiveness and handling, especially in wet conditions and light snow. Unveiled in September, the tire's features include Cooper’s consumer-friendly Wear Square tread wear indicator.

Also in the Cooper booth will be the Discoverer A/TW, a premium on and off-road light truck tire. Improving on the technology of the Discoverer A/T3, Cooper says the ATW was crafted to deliver all-terrain performance for light trucks and SUVs throughout all four seasons, achieving a severe-weather rating while providing better traction than dedicated winter tires and all-season tires.

Cooper replaced its most popular all-season passenger tire, the CS4 Touring, in 2014. The premium CS5 line’s Ultra Touring and Grand Touring tires offer two all-season tread options and four speed ratings, including the company’s first-ever W rating for a touring tire. In addition, the CS5 was the first Cooper product to feature the company’s Wear Square tread wear indicator.

The company says it is preparing to launch new tire sizes and products in 2015. Modern Tire Dealer will be at booth No. 43019 on the Global Tire Expo trade show floor to report on upcoming additions to Cooper’s product lines.
