BKT Tires Inc.'s new warehouse in Wando, S.C., is open for business. The first shipments of BKT OTR tires arrived at the warehouse in September and began shipping to dealers this month.
"The warehousing of BKT OTR tires will ensure the company can rapidly meet customer needs in the eastern United States,” says President Shawn Rasey. BKT has partnered with Charleston Freight Station to deliver 25 inches and larger tire sizes.
BKT’s Manufacture-to-Cash software systems will facilitate the order process. And, according to Rasey, "specialized lift equipment fitted with rounded forks, poles, tire clamps and tire slings will assure safe handling and management of OTR tires."
Distribution center services will include the following:
* tire storage;
* inventory and reporting;
* non-compliant tire stamping;
* flatbed load-out; and
* over-sized tire handling and shipping.
