Giti expands Champiro line

Sept. 22, 2014

Giti Tire Group has added a UHP tire to its Champiro line for drivers of performance coupes, sedans and SUVs in the North American market. The new tire is backed by a 45,000-mile limited tread wear warranty.

The GT Radial Champiro UHPAS features a new and advanced all-season compound and tread design, according to Giti.

Styrene butadiene rubber and evenly distributed nanometer silica work together in the compound to enhance grip in wet, high and low temperatures, and light snow conditions. The special silica compound also helps reduce rolling resistance for increased fuel efficiency.

The company says the all-new tread design has four wide circumferential grooves to reduce hydroplaning, along with multi-depth sipes for enhanced wet grip and all-season performance throughout the life of the tire. V-shape directional grooves and sipes also contribute to improved water evacuation, while larger shoulder blocks provide increased rigidity for precise handling.

“Our R&D folks have come through big time with this new ultra high performance, all-season tire,” said Armand Allaire, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Giti Tire (USA) Ltd., which markets and sells the GT Radial brand throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The GT Radial Champiro UHPAS will be available in 38 V, W, and Y speed-rated sizes for 15- to 20-inch size rims. The sizes fit a wide range of performance coupes, sedans and SUVs, including: 2013-14 Cadillac ATS, 2010-13 Cadillac CTS, 2006-13 Range Rover Sport, 2009-14 Volkswagen CC, and 2011-15 Subaru Impreza models.

The product launch will be supported with media advertising, co-op advertising, and extensive POS kits for showroom display. For more information on GT Radial, visit www.gtradial.com.
