Goodyear is the official tire supplier for Mid-Ohio

Aug. 15, 2014

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced it has been selected as the official and exclusive tire supplier for The Mid-Ohio School and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

As part of the relationship, Goodyear says it will supply all tires for The Mid-Ohio School's fleet, as well as track vehicles. North America’s largest tire manufacturer will have significant track presence during all Mid-Ohio events, the most prominent of which is the “Goodyear Tower,” in which the track's media center and hospitality suites are housed for events, as well as the “Goodyear Bridge.”

Goodyear says it has a long-standing legacy at Mid-Ohio, which spans almost three decades, and this relationship now represents a new chapter in this storied history.

“To have Goodyear, one of the most iconic brands in racing, as part of our team is very rewarding,” said Craig Rust, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School.

“They have played such a big part of Mid-Ohio’s history and heritage. Goodyear’s leadership in tire innovation and technology parallels how racing continues to evolve here at Mid-Ohio, and we’re happy to continue our working relationship with Goodyear moving forward.”

“This association with a leading North American road course and driving school fits Goodyear well. There is a connection between the grueling demands Goodyear tires face in competitive track situations and everyday driving,” said Scott Rogers, Goodyear’s chief marketing officer, North America.

“We want racers and fans of all series to come to Mid-Ohio and experience the performance of Goodyear’s products first-hand, to see how everything we learn making Goodyear racing tires inspires what we roll into tires for consumers.”
