Impending New Tariff Puts Domestic Manufacturers in a Net Positive Position

Our recent conversations with dealers leave us with a view that retail sell-out trends showed strength in August with a notable pickup in momentum from July. From a volume standpoint, surveyed dealers reported they saw unit sales improve roughly 3% to 4% compared to the prior year’s period and came in notably above recent growth rates observed in our tire demand index.

To ride out a recession, make sure you have the right products on hand when and where your customers need them. The availability of multiple daily deliveries from wholesale distributors can help you keep inventories in check.

Take Action Now to 'Recession-Proof' Your Business

I’m no economist, but there sure are a lot of them writing and talking about a possible recession. If a recession is indeed around the corner, I hope it happens later than sooner. But either way, we must prepare our businesses to ensure they weather the storm. I truly believe that those of us who take the right steps will come out on the other side in good shape.
