Tips to measure and track your way to more profitable mechanical work

What metrics should tire dealers track to make their mechanical work more profitable? Bob Fox, owner of J&J Tire Factory in Helena, Mont., answered that question during a presentation at the Tire Factory Inc.’s annual dealer meeting last February. Rolling down the highway

Truck tire shipments are off to a great start in 2015. Compared to last year, replacement shipments are up between 4% and 5%, while original equipment shipments are up 20%.


TPMS: Nissan Altima 2007-2013

Driving at speeds above 25 mph (40 km/h), the low tire pressure warning system on a 2007 to 2013 Nissan Altima receives the signal transmitted from the transmitter installed in each wheel, and gives alarms when the tire pressure becomes low.

Nexen wants to spread the word about its tires

Nexen Tire Corp. is increasing its global presence step-by-step. And they aren’t baby steps. The South Korean company continues to increase production capacity, and now has a world-class tire test track at its disposal.


CSA and the changing face of truck tire service

Between April 2001 and December 2003, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducted a Large Truck Crash Causation Study to determine reasons for serious accidents involving vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. The results showed the majority of the crashes were caused by the driver, but lack of vehicle maintenance was also a significant factor.
