Belle Tire Distributors, one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the country, has opened a new store in Battle Creek, Mich., with another on the way.

The Battle Creek store contains 10 service bays and stocks approximately 2,500 tires, say Belle Tire officials.

Its opening gives the Allen Park, Mich.-based company 73 retail stores, according to the 2009 Modern Tire Dealer 100. (Belle Tire also operates three commercial-only locations, plus three combination commercial-retail outlets.)

The company's next retail store will be in Monroe, Mich. It's scheduled to open on Nov. 25.
