TRIB to hold contest at Great West Truck Show

Posted on May 23, 2013

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is holding a "Guess the Pressure" contest at the Great West Truck Show being held May 30 to June 1, 2013, in Las Vegas.

Visitors to TRIB's booth (#5032) will have the opportunity to "thump" three retreaded tires inflated to various pressure levels and try to correctly identify the air pressure in each tire.

"Proper air pressure is an important safety issue for all drivers, but for fleet owners and operators it also translates into real financial impacts," says TRIB Managing Director David Stevens. "Just 20% underinflation will reduce tire mileage by 16%, increase irregular wear and cause extra heat build-up, which all add up to increased costs and more downtime. The only accurate way to check tire pressure is with a properly calibrated air gauge and we encourage all drivers to regularly check their air pressure."
