McCarthy Tire Moves Its Reading Store to a Larger Home

Posted on April 28, 2017

McCarthy Tire Service Inc. has relocated its operations in Reading, Pa., to a larger facility less than two miles away.

“We wanted to expand the services we offer our customers,” says John McCarthy Jr., president of McCarthy Tire Service. “This new location has the room we need to grow. It is perfectly situated with easy access for both our commercial and retail customers.”

The new location at 2 Oesterling Drive, formerly the home of Kreitz Construction Services, is close to US 222 and PA 61 just north of the City of Reading.

McCarthy Tire plans to expand capacity in the 32,000 square-foot-facility by increasing its existing commercial tire sales and services, and by adding fleet mechanical services, engine diagnostic work, and heavy-duty truck repair to its service menu.

The new location will continue to offer complete automotive services for passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks. This includes tire sales and services, manufacturer-recommended maintenance services and fluid services for all makes and models, and all major and minor repairs. The Oesterling Drive facility has a large parking lot, free wifi, and complimentary beverage service.

McCarthy Tire Service has served the Reading area with commercial tire sales and services and automotive services since 1990. The company is a fourth-generation, family owned and operated commercial tire business based in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

McCarthy Tire is no. 21 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 and is the sixth largest independent commercial dealer and the eighth largest independent retreader according to MTD research.

This is the second time McCarthy has moved to accommodate growth in the last year. For details on its new retread facility, read “McCarthy Tire Settles in to Its New Retread Plant.”
