Yokohama Tire Corp. will be the official tire of the 2017 Nitro World Games at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah, this summer.
As part of the partnership, the company will sponsor the Skate Best Tricks competition at the second annual event, which will crown world champions in action sport disciplines such as FMX, BMX, Skate and Scooter. NBC will televise the Nitro World Games in primetime on June 24.
“We have some fun surprises set up for the Nitro fans and look forward to showcasing our super-tough line of Geolandar light truck tires at the Worlds,” says Fardad Niknam, director of LTR segment development.
Nitro Circus Live Pty. Ltd., a global action sports and entertainment brand, produces the Nitro World Games. Yokohama is also the exclusive tire of the Nitro Circus Live Tour in the United States through 2019, says Fred Koplin, Yokohama's senior director of marketing and motorsports.
"The Nitro Circus Tour visits 24 cities this year. It will visit another different 24 cities next year, (and) also has some international events."
