Cooper Celebrates 10 Years of Roadmaster Tires

Posted on June 23, 2017

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. says the 10th anniversary of the Roadmaster brand "is more than a milestone, it's a launch point into our next era of successful product offerings."

Those are the words of Gary Scroeder, director of Cooper's truck and bus tire business.

“Roadmaster began with four tire lines and now we offer commercial tires for nearly every application – long haul, regional, mixed service, pick-up and delivery, and bus,” says Schroeder.

In 2010 the brand introduced its first SmartWay-verified tire, and since then Roadmaster has added five more SmartWay-verified tires to the lineup. There's one for nearly every application.

The brand's distribution has expanded, too. Initially Roadmaster tires were offered soley through dealers, but in 2012 Roadmaster earned its first original equipment fitment — for 53-foot dry van trailers. More OE fitments followed.

“Roadmaster has been supported by dealers who embraced the brand from its launch and by owner/operators who have asked for it by name. These groups have been, and always will be, an important part of our business,” says Schroeder. “That support, combined with the confidence placed in the brand by OE manufacturers, has been a driving force in Roadmaster’s success.”

Roadmaster has grown from a brand with four lines to a lineup for any commercial application.

In 2015, the Cooper Fleet Service Network was introduced to provide 24/7 emergency roadside tire replacement and repair for eligible fleets enrolled in Roadmaster’s national account program.

“Roadmaster tires are designed for North American roads by a team of engineers in Findlay, Ohio, who are committed to meeting the needs of Roadmaster customers,” says Schroeder. “That commitment is what has made us successful for the past decade and what will continue to do so for many years to come.”
