Simple Tire LLC is promoting a new relationship with Michelin’s family of tire brands. The online tire seller is now a Michelin authorized retailer.
In a blog post shared on its social media accounts on July 18, Simple Tire says:
“In a sign of the times, SimpleTire is proud to let our customers know that we are now working with Michelin North America Inc., and we are now designated as a Michelin Authorized Retailer.
“SimpleTire has always offered the full assortment of Michelin tires, but now has the support from Michelin for purchase incentives and rebates on Michelin, BFGoodrich and Uniroyal passenger and light truck tires.”
Simple Tire sells tires to consumers at www.simpletire.com, and uses its network of tire dealers and tire distributors to source the tires purchased. In June the company told Modern Tire Dealer that network now includes more than 10,000 locations.
And Simple Tire will maintain that same sourcing pattern when consumers purchase Michelin, BFGoodrich or Uniroyal tires.
The company has a similar authorized retailer relationship with Nexen Tire America Inc.
MTD has reached out to Michelin for comment.
The tire maker has experimented with other avenues and technologies. Last month it acquired an Atlanta-based telematics company, and in September 2016 it started selling BFGoodrich-brand tires online direct to consumers. In November 2016 it shelved its onsite tire installation project because volumes didn't meet expectations.
