Mock-Beroth Tire Group broke ground on a new Beroth Tire & Automotive store in Mocksville, N.C., in July. It will be the company’s 14th tire store.
The 5,200-square-foot outlet is set to open in October or November and will eventually have about 15 employees.
Mock-Beroth Tire & Automotive traces its roots to the mid 1950s when Floyd Mock and his brothers Carey and Cecil started a tire recapping business in their parents’ garage. The brothers opened their first store in 1972.
In 1978, Tom Beroth joined Mock Tire and opened a Stokes Tire location in King, N.C. More locations in North Carolina followed. Today Tom's son T. Beroth and grandsons, TJ Beroth and Earlie Gilley along with Carey's son Bill, Floyd's son-in-law Mike McKnight, and Cecil's son Craig operate the business.
In addition to the tire retail and automotive service stores, the company owns two wholesale warehouses and has about 150 employees.
