Virginia Tire & Auto Supports International Justice Mission

Posted on October 2, 2017

Virginia Tire & Auto LLC will donate a portion of proceeds from oil changes through June 2018 at all of its 13 locations to the International Justice Mission (IJM).

IJM, based in Washington, D.C., is the largest international anti-slavery organization in the world working to protect the poor from violence and human trafficking throughout the developing world. IJM partners with local authorities to rescue victims, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.

Washington Redskins quarterback, Kirk Cousins, a customer of the Virginia Tire & Auto's Dulles store, is a longtime supporter of IJM.

“Virginia Tire & Auto is a family-owned and operated business that stands in support of people who work to protect the most vulnerable among us and uphold human dignity,” says Julie Holmes, president, Virginia Tire & Auto. “We are very grateful to our good friend, Kirk Cousins, for making us aware of IJM, and we hope our small contribution will aid in their efforts.”

Cousins, a supporter of IJM since he was in high school, said, “I am most appreciative of Virginia Tire & Auto for supporting an organization my family and I have supported for many years.”

Most people think slavery is a thing of the past, but there are more slaves today than ever before in human history, according to Jaclynn Willert, director of IJM Professional Athlete Partners & Programs. "IJM is incredibly thankful for champions like Julie and Kirk Cousins and Virginia Tire & Auto for using their voices and resources to bring others to the fight,” she says.

Virginia Tire & Auto was twice named the “Best Automotive Maintenance Service Provider” by Northern Virginia magazine and named one of the top multi-generational, family-owned businesses in the Washington, D.C., metro region by the Washington Business Journal.
