When Ramona Tire Inc. decides to build another Ramona Tire & Automotive Service Center, it does so with fanfare. Owner Don Digby and Vice President Chris Wyborny were joined by the real estate development team and contractors at the recent groundbreaking of store No. 17 in Redlands, Calif.

The special guest was Gayle Covey, a field represtative from the San Bernardino County Supervisor’s 3rd District.

Also on hand were Brent McManigal, an attorney with Gresham Savage, a southern California law firm; Mike Cariola, project architect; Paul Whitehead and Bob Shaffer of JG Construction; Mark Sandoval, owner of Mark Development Inc.; and Kurt Kurtti of KG Development Partners.

The 5,000-square-foot store will be located adjacent to the Mountain Grove center in the city of Redlands and is expected to employ 16 people. Completion is scheduled for June 2018.

Ramona Tire & Automotive Service Centers is tied for 66th on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list with 16 California stores in three counties: Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange. It also has a warehouse distribution center.

The Hemet, Calif.-based dealership, a Bridgestone/Firestone Affiliated Retailer, has been in business since 1970 and employs approximately 175 people. It also is a founding member of the Independent Tire Dealers Group.
