Giampaolo Brioschi, left, director of research and development for Marangoni SpA, and Bill Sweatman, president of Marangoni Tread North America, received a Top 20 Products Award from Deborah Lockridge, editor of HDT.

Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) presented a 2018 Top 20 Products Award to Marangoni representatives during a ceremony at the American Trucking Associations' Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting in Atlanta, Ga., earlier this week.

Representatives from Marangoni SpA and Marangoni Tread North America Inc. accepted the honor for their new 16/32-inch Ringtread RTL SA pattern, part of its XP Extreme Performance line of splice-less retreads. Here is HDT's write-up:

"Corners are tough on the tires on a spread-axle or multi-axle trailer, as tires drag and shoulders twist, scrape and scrub. Marangoni Tread North America addressed the problem with its Ringtread RTL SA 16/32”, which it added to its line of XP Extreme Performance line of Splice-Less retreads. The RTL SA includes a combination of Marangoni’s Ringtread technology and a compound that increases mileage and reduces premature wear when used in spread-axle or multi-axle trailer applications."

The spread-axle trailer retread is manufactured in the U.S. by Marangoni Tread North America.

“We're delighted to get this award as the competition represents the very best products in the truck sector," said Giampaolo Brioschi, director of research and development for Marangoni SpA. "It’s worth emphasizing this is the very first time this award has been given to a retread product.”

The RTL SA was selected as one of the Top 20 Products for 2018 by a panel of industry experts from a list of products picked in 2017 by the editors of Heavy Duty Trucking magazine. Each product was rated for innovation, the ability to address industry issues, and the potential to offer direct financial savings to a fleet manager.

In order to be considered, a product other than full vehicles must be commercially available or reasonably expected to be commercially available iin 2018. To read about the other 19 Top Products, check out this link: www.truckinginfo.com/channel/products.
