This is a consolidation of the distribution channel that has been happening in other consumer goods sectors the past couple of years, just took longer to reach here. Distributors are becoming manufacturers and retailers, manufacturers are becoming retailers and distributors, and dealers are wondering what is next? If the path follows other sectors, there will be a consolidation of distributors as many merge or go under, mid sized dealers will suffer and smaller ones will focus on niche markets or service offerings. This will go on for a couple of years with a shrinking number of channel participants, until a disruptor hits the market and then there will be a period of growth as people emulate the new business model.
