Demonstrating his off-road toughness as he has done all year long, Team Falken driver Dawson Allington, competing in just his first year of professional racing, took home first place in the 4600 Class at the ULTRA4 Nationals last weekend at the Prairie City SVRA, earning an entry into next February’s King of the Hammers competition.

Driving with his father, Mark Allington, Dawson took his Jeep Wrangler TJ, riding on 35-inch Falken Wildpeak M/T tires, from 2nd place in qualifying to the top spot in style. The two-mile short course, consisting mainly of high-speed jumps and man-made rock-crawling sections sandwiched in-between, did not appear to upset the perfect balance between driver, machine and tires as the duo stormed to victory.

Hot on their heels, however, was Team Falken driver Sean McNamara, who, with co-driver and brother Brian McNamara, ran in the same 4600 Class and on the same Falken Wildpeak M/T 35-inch tires. The brothers, competing in a Jeep Cherokee XJ, qualified third and finished third, providing the perfect bookend to the podium.

"This was a perfect day and a perfect finish to a great season of racing in ULTRA4," declared Brandon Barberena, Falken Tires’ supervisor, light truck and off-road events. "Both the Allingtons and the McNamaras have carried the Falken brand to victory and numerous podium finishes this season, and clearly demonstrated that the Falken Wildpeak M/T tire is tough, durable and offers maximum traction. All of us at Falken Tires are proud of Dawson’s achievements this year, as he also won the overall points championship for the Ultra4 Every Man Challenge 2018, so we congratulate him for that incredible accomplishment in just his first year of competition."

The ULTRA4 Racing series challenges drivers to compete in a wide variety of terrain from endurance desert racing to competition-style rock crawls to short course racing. One of the most popular sites on the race calendar, the Prairie City State Vehicle Recreation Area, just 20 miles outside Sacramento, Calif., drew a strong crowd for this final season event.

Each of the ULTRA4 races is a qualifier for the King of the Hammers race, "the toughest one-day off-road race on the planet." For more information, please visit www.ultra4racing.com.
