Trans Texas Tire Recalls Trailer Tires Sold at Discount Tire

Posted on May 14, 2019

Trans Texas Tire (TTT) of Mount Pleasant, Texas, is recalling 560 Contender trailer tires that are sold exclusively at Discount Tire stores.

TTT says the sidewalls of the Contender 5.70-8 tires are incorrectly labeled. Each side of the tire may state different PLY and PSI markings, a problem which Discount Tire noticed and reported to Trans Texas Tire.

The recalled lawn and garden/small trailer tires were produced from April 1, 2018, through May 31, 2018.

The company plans to notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires with tires that have the correct sidewall markings, free of charge. The recall will begin in May 2019.

Owners may contact Trans Texas Tire customer service at 1-903-572-0267. Owners also may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
