Mike Holmes and Julie Holmes will serve as co-CEOs for the company Julie's parents, Myron and Carole, founded in 1976. Mike Holmes has worked for the business for 12 years, and Julie Holmes joined him nine years ago.

“We chose to refine our titles to better reflect our day-to-day roles and true partnership in the company,” says Julie Holmes. “I will continue to focus on employee and program development, marketing and communications, and corporate governance. Mike will continue directing company strategy, technology integration, real estate and finance.”

Ben Wilson, previously a general manager, has been promoted to chief operating officer.

“Ben’s promotion recognizes the enormous contributions he has made to Virginia Tire & Auto over the past few years and reflects the work he has already been performing by leading major company initiatives,” Mike Holmes says.

Virginia Tire & Auto opened two new stores in 2019 and plans to open two more this fall in Herndon and Tysons. Mike Holmes says the company’s recent growth created the need for a COO position, and Wilson was a perfect fit.

“Ben is a vital part of the day-to-day operations of our company. We know he will provide the additional leadership we need during this time of growth.”

Wilson began his career at Virginia Tire & Auto in 2013 as a call center associate. After working in the call center, he moved on to create and manage internal distribution and logistics for Virginia Tire & Auto. Then he served as store manager for the Springfield and Bristow locations and, most recently, became a general manager, overseeing 10 stores and company-wide retail operations.

“I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had with Virginia Tire & Auto thus far,” Wilson says, “and I am excited to use my experience to lead business operations during such an important time for our company.”

Virginia Tire & Auto has 15 stores and is tied for the No. 74 spot on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of largest independent tire dealers in the country.
