Nokian Is Adding Capacity for Passenger Tires

Nokian Tyres plc is increasing production capacity for passenger car tires at its factory in Nokia, Finland, by approximately 30%. The tire maker will hire 80 new employees and run nine additional shifts each week.  

Bridgestone is investing in its Tokyo R&D center, and as a result, moving its passenger and light truck tire production at that facility to other plants in Japan.

Bridgestone Corp. is expanding its research and development center in Kodaira City, Tokyo, and as a result moving and consolidating its passenger and light truck tire production from that same facility to other manufacturing plants in Japan.

USW to vote on master contract with Goodyear

Ratification of the United Steelworkers' (USW) tentative labor contract with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is expected to take place by Sept. 18. USW officials say the agreement requires Goodyear to invest "a minimum of $600 million in capital expenditures to maintain our production facilities with state-of-the-art equipment."
