Pick From 2 New Pirelli Truck Tires

TP Commercial Solutions LLC, the commercial arm of Pirelli Tire North America Inc., has launched two Pirelli-brand truck tires as part of its G:85 series.

“It will take us time to grow into a full-line truck tire supplier to the dealers and fleets in the marketplace, but we are moving in that direction,” says Clif Armstrong.

There were fewer Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack and International trucks at the Mid-America Trucking Show this year because all the Class 8 original equipment truck manufacturers declined to attend. Pirelli Brand Truck Tires Will Be Available Soon

Why in the world would any global tire manufacturer want to enter the ultra-competitive truck tire market in the U.S. and Canada at this time? Especially given the strength (ask any domestic retreader) of low-cost radial imports in the market?

"So far, having been in the business as long as I have (most recently with Continental Tire the Americas LLC), I've been very impressed with what I've seen with Pirelli," said Clif Armstrong (right, pictured with Pirelli's Dino Maggioni), at the 2016 Mid-America Trucking Show in March.
