Montreal's Public Transport Picks Vipal For Retreads

After a bidding process and a battery of tests with Vipal Rubber Corp.'s V167 tread, the Société de Transport de Montreal (STM), located in Montreal, Canada, will begin retreading its tires using Vipal products.

Bridgestone will increase output at Tenn. plant

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) will invest $36.6 million in its Warren County, Tenn., plant to increase production capacity by an additional 900 truck and bus tires per day. The expansion is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2013 and is projected to create 50 new jobs.

As part of a plan to produce 100 million tires worldwide annually by 2014, Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its seventh plant in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia. The move is intended to increase production in North America, the Middle East and Asia.


Goodyear to supply L.A. metro bus fleet
