Hankook Gains Ground on its Goals

Continued growth in the U.S. and Canadian markets will be the key for Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. to reach its self-imposed goal of being the industry’s fifth largest tire company by 2020. This is the message about 80 key distributors and dealers of Hankook-branded tires were told at the company’s annual Partner’s Day Meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico, last month.

Hankook’s Plan: To Remain Focused on Its Dealers

Will Hankook be the next tire manufacturer to sell tires online? In a word, no. “We have been focusing on our dealers,” said Jae Bum Park, senior vice president of marketing for Hankook during an interview with Modern Tire Dealer in the opening hours of the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The tire company intends to continue to do business with those dealers.

Hankook is offering a spring rebate on purchases of four tires. The rebate includes seven of Hankook's passenger and light truck tire products.
