Tire Factory’s New CEO Outlines 3 Paths to Growth

Walter Lybeck sees plenty of growth potential for Tire Factory Inc. And after a couple weeks as the cooperative’s permanent CEO, he outlined his strategy to pursue that growth during an interview with Modern Tire Dealer.

Walter Lybeck has risen to the top at Tire Factory as its new permanent CEO. At the group's annual meeting in February 2016, Modern Tire Dealer overheard dealers tell board members they thought Lybeck had done well as interim CEO and should be considered a top candidate.

Tire Factory Picks Its New CEO

Tire Factory dealers gathered for their annual meeting Feb. 18-20, 2016, in Portland, Ore. It was the first look for many dealers at the new branding and designs of Point S, an international group of independent tire dealers that Tire Factory joined in May 2015.

Tire Factory dealers are in the midst of rebranding their stores to the blue and green Point S logos. The cooperative is offering up to $25,000 to rebrand each store.

Tire Factory signals a change in strategy

Tire Factory Inc. added tire brands, unveiled digital marketing technology and distributed $3.8 million in profits and volume purchase bonuses at its annual dealer meeting in Portland, Ore., Feb. 20-22, 2015. The cooperative’s management team also signaled the need for a change in strategic direction to its members.
