Ethanol fuel: EPA addresses ‘E10 blend wall’

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a proposal for public comment on the levels of renewable fuels to be blended into gasoline and diesel fuels required by Congress under the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 that created the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).


Maine legislature approves amended ethanol bill

Legislation that originally prohibited the sale and distribution of corn-based ethanol if at least two other New England states pass a similar prohibition was amended and approved by the Maine Legislature.


Maine Gov. signs bill to ban ethanol gas

Legislation (LD 453) that prohibits a person from selling or offering for sale gasoline that contains corn-based ethanol as an additive at a level greater than 10% by volume has been signed into law by Maine Gov. Paul LePage.


Court won’t rehear ethanol case, group reacts

The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) has responded to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia’s decision to deny petitions to rehear a case on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to allow gasoline containing 15% ethanol – called “E15” – to be sold into the general fuel supply for use in some motor vehicles and engines.
