Timberland Tires, created by Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd., was highlighted at the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) 2016 Annual Convention and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nev.
Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. has acquired Interstate Tire Distributor (ITD), a California-based tire wholesaler.
Omni United Pte. Ltd. has launched a Timberland tires e-commerce site and installer network. Timberland tires are the first tires purposely designed to be recycled into footwear outsoles.
In my January column, I wrote that Singapore-based tire producer Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. had “broken new ground” in the tire industry by launching its Timberland tire range in a unique association with a designer label — Timberland Footwear. I have been surprised by the speed in which this new innovative development has caught the attention and imagination of many people in the industry, especially here in Europe.
As we start a new year in the European tire market, the main question is, “What is going to happen in the next 12 months in this unpredictable but never dull business of ours?” Well, before I look ahead, I want to look back at what has happened in the last 12 months which will give me a fair prospectus for the future.
