Tire Plant Capacities: 62 Plants, With More to Come

Yearly tire capacity, not production, in North America totaled 334.8 million tires at 62 plants as of Jan. 1, 2018. That’s up 4.9% compared to 2017, when capacity was 319.1 million tires. (The total does not include race or aviation tires.)

Apollo Opens Tire Plant, Its 6th, in Budapest, Hungary

As expected, Apollo Tyres Ltd.'s Onkar S Kanwar was there. So was his son, Neeraj. But the opening of the company's new $500 million consumer and commercial tire plant in Budapest, Hungary, on April 7 also drew politicians of the highest order, including Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
