Kenda USA introduced its latest light truck tire during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas. The Klever A/T2 KR628 features "Tier 1 quality at a top Tier 3 price," said Jimmy Yang, chairman of Kenda Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd., Kenda Tire's parent company in Taiwan.

More than 20 years ago, the International Tire Expo, under the direction of the Tire Association of North America, merged with the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas. The names have changed since then -- it's now called the Global Tire Expo "powered" by TIA (Tire Industry Association) -- but the event remains one of the biggest tire shows in the world.

John Evankovich, outgoing president of the Tire Industry Association (TIA), has worked nearly 30 years at Sam’s Club Inc. in Bentonville, Ark. He started out as a tire technician, was promoted to management positions over the years, and 15 years ago was named director of the company’s tire and battery centers.
