Yokohama Tire Corp. announced its partnership with Chris Forsberg and the Forsberg Racing team for an off-road racing event in Mexico.
The Yokohama/Forsberg Racing Off-Road partnership starts at the Yokohama NORRA 500, on Oct. 19-22. The two-day race runs from Ensenada, Mexico to San Felipe, Mexico.
Forsberg – who is a three-time Formula Drift champion - will compete with Yokohama team member, Leticia Bufoni, in a 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, modified with all-new NISMO off-road parts, on Geolandar M/T G003 tires.
“Transitioning from drift to dirt with Yokohama’s Geolandar tires, paired with rugged, all-new NISMO Off-Road parts and a Nissan Frontier is a thrilling new chapter,” says Forsberg.
“Chris is such a talented driver,” says Andrew Briggs, vice president of marketing and product management for Yokohama Tire.
“Being part of this off-road effort along with his other partners like Nissan and NISMO Off-Road is a powerful combination. Yokohama and Nissan are two iconic Japanese companies that share a rich motorsport history, so it’s really exciting to be able to collaborate with them on this program. We look forward to conquering the Yokohama NORRA 500 together.”
