Kauffman Tire Service launches Web site

July 12, 2001

Kauffman Tire Service's new Web site, kauffmantire.com, contains a variety of features designed to drive customers to the College Park, Ga.-based chain's 48 stores.

They include tire and automotive information, an interactive coupon that buyers can print out and bring to their local Kauffman store, a virtual store tour and a shop locator that provides a map and directions to the nearest company outlet with the click of a button.

"We're in such an aggressive industry, so every factor...really counts," says Mark Kauffman, Kauffman Tire's executive vice president. "We are trying to educate our customers and give them the resources to understand and feel comfortable with decisions about their cars."

Kauffman Tire, which reported $120 million in sales last year, is the 18th largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Mondern Tire Dealer data.

It recently opened a 20,000-square-foot distribution center in Medina, Ohio.
