Team Falken has two drivers In Top 10 Formula Drift standings

June 23, 2014

Team Falken had a strong showing at New Jersey’s Wall Speedway for Round 4 of the 2014 Formula Drift series and maintains two drivers – Justin Pawlak and Darren McNamara in sixth and eighth position, respectively – in the overall championship.

It was also the strongest performance of the season for third Team Falken driver, Daijiro Yoshihara, who qualified 4th, and advanced to the top 8 as did McNamara, who lost to eventual Gauntlet winner Fredric Aasbo.

Yoshihara, who has struggled this season, was pleased with his overall performance.  “We knew that breaking in a new car this year – the Falken Tire/Discount Tire Subaru BRZ – would take time as we determined the proper set-up, but I think we’ve literally turned the corner and can expect better results going forward,” Dai noted.

Falken Tire engineers were in agreement that the AZENIS RT615K tires that its three drivers run throughout the Formula D season continue to perform for the team as they seek the ultimate responsiveness, both on the track and for the company’s consumers, on the road.

“Team Falken appreciates the support of our dedicated team members who strengthen our efforts, along with our shops, RTS and SPD,” said Nick Fousekis, Falken’s Director of Motorsports Marketing and Events.  We also couldn’t do this without our retail partners and guests, who numbered more than 110 at Wall Speedway, and of course, our fans.”

Team Falken will travel next to Monroe, WA for the “Throwdown,” when Formula D visits Evergreen Speedway, July 18-19.
