B&J Rocket has announced a new generation of buffing blades for the retreading industry. The company will introduce Rocket Evo-Blades at the Reifen 2014 International Trade Fair May 27-30 in Essen Germany.
"This is the logical result of years of user experience, intensive research and constant advancement of the manufacturing process," says Andreas Mueller, managing director of the Swiss company.
Evo stands for "Evolution," which has taken place in the interior of the blade, according to the company. B&J Rocket says a new manufacturing process has changed the properties of its blades significantly and noticeably.
Each individual tooth cuts far more aggressively and faster and remains sharp much longer. This, in turn, minimizes the amount of heating by friction when cutting and during the buffing process. Also, the emission of smoke is reduced . The result is a better retreaded tire, which meets modern requirements, according to the company.
“Our evolution is measurable,” says Mueller.
B&J ships Rocket Evo-Blades in boxes of 30 sets, reducing the packaging weight by about 22 pounds. The company says the boxes can be handled much more easily and no longer run the risk of tearing.
The new blades are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2014 in the most widely requested blade types. In the summer 2015, the entire B&J blade assortment will be converted to Rocket Evo-Blades.
