Goodyear unveils two more Kelly tires

June 25, 2001

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced two new Kelly Armorsteel commercial truck tires.

The Armorsteel KLHS is Kelly's "premier steer tire" with a five-rib design for more rubber in the shoulder area, a low tread-to-void ratio for even wear, rib edge radial blades to reduce erosion wear and a "state-of-the-art" coupling groove.

The G-load rated tire comes in four sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 295/75R22.5 and 295/75R24.5. It replaces Kelly's KSA steer tire.

The Armorsteel KHS all-position tire is designed for mixed-service applications. It contains an updated belt package, tread pattern and bead area, plus four full-depth grooves for responsive steering and wet/dry handling, according to Goodyear officials.

The tire is available in size 315/80R22.5 in both a J or L load range.
