Target Tire enters eastern Tennessee market

Jacksonville, N.C.-based Target Tire is preparing to open a new distribution center in Knoxville, Tenn.

The 40,000-square-foot facility should open by Aug. 1, says Target Tire Marketing Manager Herman Horne.

Target Tire is a member of American Car Care Centers (ACCC) Inc., the largest tire distribution network in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.

"Knoxville is an area where ACCC does not have representation," Horne says, "so we decided to jump in there."

Target will stock around 20,000 passenger, light truck, medium commercial truck, farm and industrial tires at the six-loading dock warehouse and will run four delivery trucks out of the facility.

The building has extra space that the 78-year-old dealership can "grow into" if need be, Horne says.
